Helen O. Krause Animal Foundation, Inc., is a proud supporter of The Spay Neuter Assistance Program or SNAP. SNAP is a not-for-profit organization dedicated solely to offering low-cost spaying and neutering for dogs and cats, as well as promoting humane education to pet owners and the community.

SNAP has no paid employees or staff. Management of the spay/neuter programs, fundraising and administrative functions are all performed by volunteers.

The Mission of SNAP is to:

Prevent the suffering and abuse of cats and dogs resulting from over population...

• eliminate pet overpopulation as a cause of cats and dogs being killed, abused and neglected
• treat all cats and dogs equally no matter if they are companion animals, strays or ferals, and
• provide compassionate and caring spaying and neutering to all cats and dogs.

What We Do:

High volume spaying and neutering is the only way to end pet overpopulation. 100% of our resources and efforts are put to this one purpose.

Through our network of participating veterinarians, we offer year-round, reduced-fee spay/neuter surgeries for both cats and dogs in need.

In addition, SNAP sponsors the Spay/Neuter Express, a reduced-fee mobile spay/neuter service for owned and feral cats, along with co-sponsors PAWS and HOKAFI. Surgery is offered for our Express Program by Keystone Mobile Veterinary Services.

Low Cost Programs

Our Clients are the animals we spay/neuter. Our services are dedicated to their welfare. We are proud to have provided low cost spay/neuter services to over 40,000 "clients" since 1981!

SNAP Offers Two Programs:

• Low cost spay/neutering is available through our participating veterinarians. To receive your low cost coupon and the list of veterinarians, please call (717) 732- 5377.

Our Surgery Rates:

• Male Cats - $25
• Female Cats - $40
• Male Dogs - (0-80 lbs) - $55
• Female Dogs - (0-80 lbs) - $65
• Dogs over 80 lbs. - Fee varies by veterinary practice

Vaccinations and other services are available through our participating practices at their published rates. Additional charges apply for office visits, etc.

• Spay/Neuter Express - is a mobile program for cats only. Surgeries are performed by Keystone Mobile Veterinary Services , must be pre-arranged, and are by appointment only To schedule, please call (717) 732-5377 and leave your NAME & PHONE NUMBER in mailbox #5. These clinics are offered approximately twice a month and are done "while you wait." Vaccinations are available at the time of surgery during these events for an additional charge.
